It is very hot here on our travels down the Adriatic countries…at least it is if you have wintered in Scotland!
On arrival in Mostar I felt I had to add to the camp wardrobe (so to speak) and buy a suitable hat to keep me in the shade whilst keeping up with my cultural tourism. G and I found a hat shop in the old town near the famous Mostar bridge and they were delighted to sell us a purple hat and even more delighted to tell us how Mel Gibson was their very favourite Scottish person…..
We celebrated with our first Turkish coffee of the tour (I love Turkish coffee) and listened to the call to prayer from the Mosque.
Mostar is located very strategically at the end of the pass through the mountains and the gateway to the coast. There is also quite a strong eastern influence here with a mix of religious faiths and cultures.
