Volta floods and Luxury

We are in the region of the Volta delta, lots and lots of flooding around in the villages but the main road is on a causeway so is still passable. Tony and I are the only “guests” in a little beach place with music, restaurant, bar, pool all the things folks often seek out on holiday

But it’s not really my cup of tea, we are camping in a parking space at the beach so we are up with the dawn, me changing wheels around to put the fresh mud tyres on the front ready for the Nigeria to Cameroon crossing and doing all the normal lubricant checks (power steering still working well)

We spend the day updating blogs, booking flights and arguing on line with utility companies as well as planning the next two weeks of the trip, we have to lose a little time as we are ahead of plan and have a fixed validity date for our Cameroon visa so don’t want to enter Nigeria early, the last place one wants to hang around.

Off to Togo tomorrow where we have a final visa to get in Lome so need to spend a few days there before the, hopefully, fast run across Nigeria
