Now we have the roof off and the sides I moved on to stripping out all the camper electrics to allow the rear tub to be removed, repaired and put on the new chassis, several days of gentle removal and labelling of each wire was meticulous work, but now the sides are off the seat box out the floor out and the rear tub is loose and ready to lift off, once that is done then painting the new chassis and bulkhead is next weeks job before starting adding axles and wheels to create the rolling chassis for the step by step rebuild.
The strip down of the bulkhead and reassembly on the new bulkhead is a daunting task more than a weeks work in itself. So far the professionals at GEMM have only been called on for two specially tricky bolts that needed a specialist tool, manpower to lift the roof and a lesson on the proper way to disconnect some plugs without damaging them, so feeling pretty pleased with my mechanical skills so far. George and Bobby are masterminding the overall plan so I get told what to do next !
