Celtic Rover
We leave Namibia behind and head into South Africa via a nice little border post at Onseepkans, by little I mean they had three staff, we were the first customers they had seen that day, and they looked a little puzzled when I wanted my Carnet stamped.
We head to the waterfalls at Augrabies NP which turned out to be really nice, the gorge is about 11km long with lots of viewpoints and the main falls quite spectacular. The next day we head south towards Clanwillam crossing desert pans rapidly on nice tar road before diverting into the mountians and some more interesting roads. We cover a massive 569km in the day over 8 hours sustained by an excellent lamb and rosemary pie in a little village cafe. By the end of the day we are pushing it a bit on some rough roads to get to a nice campsite but manage to make it just before sunset.
Tomorrow off to Cape Town, Nelsons roof was made there so we are going to the factory to claim our “most travelled” Icarus roof title for our 72 countries, should be fun.
